Jochen Heil
Biography
Jochen Heil studied chemistry in Darmstadt and earned a doctorate in theoretical physical chemistry from the Technical University of Dortmund. During his research in physical chemistry he was a maintainer of and key contributor to a parallel molecular theory of solvation solver and served as an adjunct member of DoWiR, an advisory body concerned with the university's HPC activities. Since 2016 he is an HPC specialist at GNS Systems GmbH, a German IT service provider focusing on product development and engineering. He acts as a co-developer of GNS Systems’ cloud-related offerings while also supporting CFD applications and developing ancillary solutions on the HPC platform of a large car manufacturer.
